Matt's most distinctive work draws from classical and Renaissance art, the busts, figures, and forms that run through the Greco-Roman canon and the Renaissance masters who reinterpreted it. References are taken from sculpture, painting, and sketches alike, each piece built with close attention to the fall of light, the softness of the surface, and the historical weight of the subject. Working privately from his appointment-only studio in Kensington, London, Matt takes these on as bespoke black and grey commissions, designed around each client's placement and scale.
